Gratitude.
My sweet sister Joanie takes a moment each morning before she gets out of bed to say a prayer of gratitude for the good in her life.
Sadly, most of us like to think, discuss, and even obsess over the negative aspects of our life.
We complain about our financial situation, our ailments, and disappointments in our view of how things "should have been". This is negative, toxic self-talk and robs us of joy.
While decorating for autumn (my favorite... remember?),
I have been considering ways to creatively insert reminders of gratitude into my decor.
My hope is that it will remind me, my family, and others who enter my home to spread love and thankfulness for the blessings we receive daily.
I recently found some cute gold acorn (my symbol) place card holders
at a wonderful home decor shop.
I decided to buy a pair to use for holding little handwritten messages of gratitude.
I love how it looks nestled among other autumn decorations.
I blog about creating something new from something that already exists.
I love the thought of creating more gratitude in myself and others through awareness.
This autumn, what types of things are you thankful for?
How can you incorporate gratitude into your home and help remind others to show their appreciation for those who gently walk beside them on their journey?
It may be as simple as a handwritten message, an extra hug, a sincere word of thanks, or a token of appreciation. Whatever you choose, create more gratitude!
I'm off to leave love notes on my family member's pillows,
letting them know specifically the ways they have enhanced my life.
Will you join me?
Respond with your ideas of other ways we can all show gratitude!
Love, live and create intentionally,
Kristi
What wonderful timing as I found out yesterday that I have to have foot surgery again. After less than 24 hours of feeling sorry for myself I am GRATEFUL that it is something minor & fixable compared to the serious health problems that so many others endure. I'm also Grateful that your happy spirit lifts me so easily!! Go sew!!
